Lithographic printing is a totally different process of printing to digital printing. Lithographic or ‘Litho’ printing is the method of using a metal plate with a completely smooth surface. After applying a coating of polymer to a flexible aluminum plate it can then be transferred to paper or any other material in high volume.
Pretty much any mass produced smooth item i.e. books, posters, flyers and packaging are produced using the method of Litho Printing. Litho printing can also be used to make business stationery such as letterheads and business cards on a mass scale. All types of high-volume text, are printed using offset lithography.
